Actuate recently launched the Certified Professional Program to establish standards and credentials which insure that implementation professionals have the necessary skills to successfully develop, enhance and maintain Actuate applications. In order to gain these skills, participants in the program should attend Actuate training courses in order to prepare for a comprehensive online examination.
To prepare for the exam, we recommend that candidates attend two prerequisite courses: the e.Report Designer Professional course and the Developing Customized Reports course.
The e. Report Designer Professional course is an intensive, hands-on course that develops the skills needed to build and maintain a sophisticated corporate reporting system using Actuate's e.Report Designer Professional. Students learn Actuate' s reporting system theory, and then apply this knowledge to capture and present key data in an effective, concise and timely manner.

The Developing Customized Reports course is an advanced course that focuses on discussions of the Actuate framework, object-oriented concepts, the fundamentals of Actuate Basic, and the types and behaviors of Actuate Foundation Class methods.

- Preparing for and passing the Actuate 7 Certified Professional Developer Exam
The Actuate 7 Certified Professional Developer Exam is a proctored, online exam that can be taken at Prometric testing centers worldwide. To locate a testing center near you, and to register for the exam, please visit the Prometric website at http://www.2test.com and follow the directions listed below:
· Select IT Professional as the area of study and the name of a country, on the Welcome screen
· Select Exam Express as the client, on the Client and Program Selection Screen
· Select Actuate Certified Professional Developer Release 7 on the Exam Selection screen
The Actuate Certified Professional Developer exam is priced at $160. The test can be taken multiple times but the exam fee will be charged at each testing. Please note that all certifications are specific to major Actuate product releases, and should be renewed with each new release.
