Announces New VoIP Switch/Gateway Product that
Supports Multiple Digital Trunks and Up to 120 VoIP
Calls.
A New
Tenor Configuration Manager Makes Tenor Even Easier To
Deploy
EATONTOWN, NJ December 1, 2003 Quintum®
Technologies, Inc., a leading manufacturer of Voice
over IP solutions, is announcing the newest addition
to their Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switch product line.
The
new Tenor DX Series of VoIP products addresses the
needs of larger enterprises, and service providers’
smaller locations. This new product will extend
Tenor’s unique capabilities and “transparent
installation” to support larger PBXs that are
utilizing multiple digital trunks. It also offers
service providers an easy, cost effective way to
capitalize on VoIP’s benefits by being able to
implement IP Local Loop or calling card applications
in their smaller Points of Presence (POPs).
Quintum
is also announcing that shipping with the new Tenor DX
Series is a new Tenor Configuration Manager with a
simple, easy to use Graphical User Interface (GUI).
The Configuration Manager runs on a PC and can
remotely configure a Tenor anywhere IP access is
available.
The
newest Tenors, available with 2, 4, 6 or 8 T1/E1/PRI
spans, support H.323 and SIP. They scale from eight to
120 simultaneous VoIP calls. This new VoIP product
will be available in a variety of configurations that
include both traditional gateway configurations and
Tenor’s unique MultiPath architecture that provides
easy integration with existing voice and data network
infrastructures. The Tenor DX Series of MultiPath
Switches all offer intelligent call routing between
the PBX, PSTN and IP network to assure the
optimization of cost and voice quality.
In
addition to these features, Quintum’s award winning
technologies are also included: SelectNet™,
Tenor’s patented QoS feature, which ensures
carrier-grade calling at all times. VoIP calls that
fall below a tuned QoS threshold are routed
automatically to the PSTN in mid-call; PacketSaver™
Technology, designed to improve bandwidth utilization
with RTP multiplexing; NATAccess™, which performs
H.323 NAT translation, not typically integrated in
gateways; IVR/AAA RADIUS functionality; and an
available integrated H.323 gatekeeper.
"Quintum
has been building a strong track record helping
enterprises IP-enable their branch offices," says
Jon Arnold, VoIP Equipment Program Leader at analyst
firm Frost & Sullivan. "Their MultiPath
architecture provides both carrier-grade voice quality
and service reliability – two must-haves for IP in
the enterprise. Building on this, it's clear that
enterprises are ready to take the next step with
Quintum in further extending IP's reach and
consolidating their LD. The Tenor DX series is a
logical progression for Quintum, and should be well
received by both enterprises and the PBX
vendors."
"We
are very exited about the new Quintum’s new Tenor
DX,” said Stephane Valici, Managing Director for
Ipercom, a Value Added Reseller in Paris, France.
“Flexibility and performance are now greatly
improved, which gives us the ability to scale and fit
our customers needs and demands. Since we deployed it
in Europe a few weeks ago, orders have been coming in
non-stop. "There is no doubt in my mind that the
Tenor DX will be extremely successful.”
“This
new Tenor is one of our most versatile products,”
stated Charles Rutledge, Vice President of Marketing
for Quintum. “Quintum is offering configurations
that meet the needs of a enterprise with a single T1,
trough larger enterprises that have multiple T1 trunks
on the PBX to a service provider that need to support,
LD trunking, IP local access, and calling cards in a
small POP.”
The
Tenor DX is currently available. The list price starts
at $3440, and will be sold through Quintum’s channel
of resellers.
Quintum's TENOR® CALL RELAY SP SESSION BORDER CONTROLLERS WIN BEST OF SHOW AWARD at TMC’S Internet Telephony Expo
EATONTOWN, NJ November 20, 2003 Quintum® Technologies, Inc., a leading manufacturer of voice over IP solutions announced that its Tenor Call Relay SP Session Border Controller was named a ”Best of Show” winner at Technology Marketing Corporation
(TMC™)’s INTERNET TELEPHONY® Conference and Expo, in Long Beach, 2003.
According to Rich Tehrani, president of TMC and chairman of INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO, “The energy and excitement shown in the exhibit hall was incredible and there are so many amazing and truly innovative products on display. While each and every vendor in the Exhibit Hall displayed cutting-edge products and services, Quintum and its Tenor Call Relay SP were particularly impressive. The Tenor Call Relay is the perfect complement Quintum’s innovative Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switch product line.
The Best of Show awards emphasize technologic innovation and product feature sets. The Call Relay SP was designed to address the scalability that service providers require for their networks. Quintum’s Session Border Controllers allow VoIP endpoints such as gateways, IP phones, and IP soft phones which are behind a Network Address Translation (NAT), firewall, to communicate with VoIP endpoints on external IP networks. This is a critical capability for service providers that need to exchange VoIP traffic with both partners and customers. The Call Relay SP supports 120 simultaneous VoIP calls, software upgradeable to 672.
“As the market for VoIP services grows, so does the need for products like the Tenor Call Relay – Session Border Controller, to share VoIP traffic across different IP networks”, stated Chuck Rutledge, VP Marketing at Quintum Technologies. “We are very pleased to be recognized for our innovative products at the INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference, where so much new internet telephony technology is introduced.”
