41 technology centers in 8 countries

The salesforce.com Foundation is working with other corporations, foundations, youth development agencies, and NGO's who share the mission towards creating a society in which children, regardless of socio-economic background, ethnicity or learning level, have access to technology and understand how to use it to enhance their lives.

The Foundation was launched in July 2000 and has implemented the following programs

  • Built and staffed 17 technology centers in after-school programs around San Francisco in partnership with PowerUP and local youth groups.

  • Provided and continuing to provide curriculum and training to these Centers in areas such as web-development, basic networking, multimedia production, Flash, Photoshop, and technology curriculum integration.

  • Serve approximately 10,000 youth through these programs in the Bay Area each year.

  • Launched a fully equipped, multi-media mobile computer technology center to the youth on the Big Island of Hawaii in partnership with Friends of the Future and the Just Think Foundation.

  • Gave over 3,700 hours of community service by salesforce.com's 200+ employees in the Centers and around the community since July 2000.

  • Equipped 20 international schools with computers, training and internet access. These schools are located in Tibetan Refugee Communities in India and Nepal, in high-conflict areas of Israel and the West Bank, and in Ireland.
